Horton inside Ribblesdale occurs as little village in Ribblesdale in the county of North Yorkshire, on the Settle–Carlisle Railway to the west of Pen-y-ghent. These are a traditional starting (& finishing) point for the Three Peaks walk. A Pennine Way and Ribble Way long-distance pathway pass through the village.
A vicinity is too popular for caving & potholing, with Alum Pot & a Long Churn cave technique upright northward of the village, & Hull Pot and Hunt Pot on the american side of Pen-y-ghent.
